Off road Desert tour via Salt lake and Draa river 8 days / 7 nights

General

This is the route for an off road trip through Morocco, which begins and ends in Marrakech. The tour can also be organized from Marrakech to Fez, or elsewhere according to your desire.

DAY 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BENHADDOU – TELOUTE

We take you from your hotel and travel through the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi-n-Tishka mountain pass (2260 m) to the Berber village of Teluet and visit Kasbah El Glaoui, the former Pasha of Marrakech. A trip along the trade route between Tizi-n-Teluet and a visit to the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Accommodation in the hotel.

DAY 2: AIT BENHADDOU – ROSES VALLEY – DADES CIRCUIT (OFF – ROAD)

Travel to the Roses Valley, here grow a famous Damascus rose and make products, oils and rose water. Then follow the valley of Dades, where on the road we will be able to see the beautiful landscapes and Berber nomads. Arrival to the valley and visit the magnificent gorge Dades. Accommodation in the valley.

DAY 3: DADES – TAMTATTOUCHTE

Travel through the city of Mesemir to Tamtattouchte, where we will see the harsh beauty of the mountains and enjoy mint tea in the nomadic Berber family in their traditional home. Walking through the villages adjacent to the town, immersion in the life of mountain Berbers. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4: TAMTATTOUCHTE – NKOB – GORGE OF TODRHA – TIZI-N-TAZAZET

We are heading to the Todrha gorge, surprisingly high gorge of Morocco. Further we pass through Tingir, one of the most beautiful mountain passes in Jebel Saghro and follow the pass of Tizi-n-Tazazet. Here you will see stunning rock formations, berber houses and valleys. Spend night in hotel.

DAY 5: NKOB – VALLEY DRAA – M’HAMID – DUNES ERG CHEGAGA

We travel via the valley of Draa through palm trees and Berber villages to Mhamid. Further we travel to the dunes. Erg Chegaga is a large group of dunes in the desert, reaching a height of 300 m. Riding a camel to the dunes of the desert. In the evening dinner, traditional songs and music of Berber nomads. Night in the tents of the desert.

DAY 6: THE JOURNEY OF THE DESERT ERG SHEGAGA

Journey through the desert. Walk to the majestic dunes and visit the nomadic inhabitants. In the evening an adventure on camels in Erg Shegaga and a meeting of an amazing sunset in the dunes. Traditional dinner and night in the tents of the desert.

DAY 7: ERG CHEGAGA – OUARZAZATE VIA SALT LAKE

Morning up and enjoy the sunrise. We cross the solonchak of the dry lake of Irika and follow the deserted oasis of Phum Zgid. After lunch, head to Ouarzazate. Ouarzazate was once only a small checkpoint, which was visited by African traders on their way to Europe. Nowadays one of the largest film studios in the world is located in the city. Spend night in hotel.
