Fez is known as one of the ancient imperial cities in Morocco. The city is made up of three parts, Fez el Bali (the old, walled city), Fez Jdid (new Fez), and the Ville Nouvelle (the French-created part). The Medina, el Bali, is the largest car-free urban area in the world with almost 9500 small streets. From Fez we take you around Morocco, to places that all have something interesting to see and experience.

DAY 1: FEZ – ERFOUD

Morocco Gnawa Tours will pick you up at the airport or at your hotel in Fez after breakfast, 8.30 am, and we will go south. When we arrive at the cedar forests of Azrou, where the wild monkeys are located, we take a short stop to see the wilderness in Morocco. Then continue along the Middle Atlas passing green valleys and scenic mountains. Lunch break in the Berber village Zaida, and arrival in Erfoud in the late afternoon.

DAY 2: ERFOUD – MERZOUGA DUNES

This morning the trip continues to Rissani, we visit the Souks and the old Palace. After we will go to a lake in Rissani to visit Berber nomads for some music entertainment. At lunchtime we stop at an Auberge with a swimming pool near the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Then you will have a camel trekking experience into the camp in the desert to watch the beautiful sunset. In the evening you can enjoy nice Berber music around the fire and dinner before sleeping in the nomad camp which has toilet and shower.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA DUNES – ALNIF – TODRA GORGE

After sunrise you continue the camel trekking for 1h to a nearby Auberge for a shower and breakfast. Continue via Merzouga and Rissani, through an area with fossils, small villages and oasis, to Alnif. Then continue to the Saghro Mountains to Tingerhir and the cliffs of Todra Gorge. Dinner and sleep at a hotel.

DAY 4: TODRA GORGE – NOMAD CAVES – OUARZAZATE

After breakfast there is a possibility to take a walk along the river surrounded by cliffs and green areas until you arrive the end of the gorges. The car meets you and we continue to Boumalne and Dades Gorge. From here we go off road to visit nomad caves and to take a glass of tea, and continue to the oasis Skoura with palm trees and old Kasbahs. Then the road to Ouarzazate where there will be dinner and we sleep at a hotel.

DAY 5: OUARZAZATE – KASBAH AIT BENHADDOU – MARRAKECH

After breakfast the trip goes towards Marrakech passing the stunning Tizi n’Tichka (2.260) with spectacular scenery, Berber villages and ever-changing landscape along the way. There will be lunch when we have passed the highest peak of Tichka. On the way over the mountain we take a trip to Ait Benhaddou. Here you visit the magnificent 12th century Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou -a UNESCO World heritage site. Local Guide. Then continue a tiny road via the old Glaoui Kasbah Telouet, before arriving Marrakech in the afternoon.
