We leave the bustle of the city and drive to the High Atlas mountains crossing the high pass of Tizi’nTichka (2,260 m). On the way we will connect with the environment and the magic of the Berber villages, the Kasbah fortress and palaces. These were the places from which the chieftains imposed their control. Visit the Kasbah of Telouet, Ounila Valley, Ksar of Ait Benhaddou (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate, also UNESCO and former residence of the Glaoui family. Numerous films have been shot here such as Gladiator, The Prince of Persia, Babel, Kingdom of Heaven, Cleopatra … We can visit the film studios in Ouarzazate.

The spectacular waterfalls of Ouzoud are located 160km from Marrakech. Enjoy a day under the falls, where we find cascades of water up to 110 meters (depending on the time of year). The pathways carved into the earth, where we will enjoy great views from different viewpoints. We see the famous horses of fantasies (riding demonstrations). By midmorning we will visit traditional and ancestral water mills. In the afternoon, we return to Medina.

DAY TRIP TO TOUBKAL AND BERBER VILLAGES Price – 80 € / person

Toubkal National Park, which surrounds the Toubkal Massif (4.167m) is the highest peak in North Africa. During the 70 miles that separate us from the mountain we will know the local environment ,which is characterized by its traditional architecture. Berber villages of adobe and stone, located on the banks of rivers with their terraced fields, feed the local economy, along with cattle and goats. Visit towns like Asni and Imlil (1740m), which mark the entrance to the National Park where most expeditions start to Toubkal. We mingle with the locals, the mountaineers and we will be able to hire mules or do a walking tour of Berber settlements enjoying the full contact with nature.

EXPLORE TO TELOUET AND THE GLAOUI KASBAH Price – 90 € / person

Transfer across the highest Mountain road pass of Tizi-n-Tichka 2160m to the traditional Berber village of Telouet (3hrs drive each way). Visit the Kasbah of el Glaoui, former war lord and pasha of Red city. This monument may look like a ruin, but inside are some beautiful examples of local craftsmanship. It is said that 300 artisans worked to create the palace. The zellig tiling, carved woodwork and stained glass windows with their ironwork are really exceptional. If you travel on a Thursday we can also visit a traditional village souk. These traditional weekly markets are the social and shopping centers for local villages to gather, buy and sell and discuss news and important events and information.
